I just finished a short script a few months ago. I'm just starting pre-production and trying to get about ?10,000 funding. I've got an executive producer who is going to cover all the post production (I'm shooting Super16 so that's telecine, grading, editing etc.) which is very handy! A well-known TV actress is going to be in it. We are just putting together a brochure/info pack about the film with synopsis biographies etc to try and get the funding. I'll let you know how we get on.
Getting back to my indie roots though, the last couple of weekends I've been shooting some footage on my own for another short I'm making. Sort of a nature mockumentary.
Also occassionally selling my soul for the devil and doing corporate stuff Which is endlessy dull. You can charge people through the nose for them though!

I'm not supposed to tell you but it's....
Bette Lynch
She's playing heavily against type as a brassy, sassy, salt-of-the-Earth, Northern barmaid. I have an inkling it'll be her breakout performance.
Or maybe that's a big lie to make myself sound cool. Or maybe it is Molly Sugden and I'm trying to throw you off the scent?
Oh god, I think I'm turning into Ralph Snart!!
Good to hear everyone's more or less pretty busy. I recently moved into a flat and I can't afford an internet connection yet (hence my disapearance from the forum).
I've had a feature script read by a script reader recently and I'm working with her before re-drafting it, also have a 10-minute short that I'm looking to get funding for and shoot sometime next year.
I'm trying to make money by speculating in real estate. it's kind of heart breaking to put up a few thousand as a down payment on a property when I could be spending it on film. But hopefully I'll double my money in a year or two.
I'm also trying to remodel a shed and turn it tnto an edinging suite and workshop. I'll have an 8x13 foot room when I'm done. Bit of serendipity here. While cleaning out the shed I found an editor and two splicers I didn't know I had.
I'm also writing a script for a feature length zombie movie. This is for some guys who want to make a zombie movie using B&W super8, 16mm and video. (They saw The Blair Witch Project.) They have some good ideas but no grasp of story structure, so I'm writing the script. It's coming along OK and I think what I've written so far is good. But I'm not really into zombie movies and I keep asking myself "Why am I doing this?"
hehehe, zombie films *chuckle*
I got Night of the Living Dead on DVD for 2.99 when I got broadband. It's a little pedestrian now...
I'm definitely on the course, handed in my notice at work, just need some money now

Sending Angry and Moist to the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival. Depending on how well that goes, perhaps more.
Arrived back from a holiday in Portugal to find out that I've been accepted to my first film festival...The International Kerry Film Festival, "Irelands Fastest Growing Film Festival." Wonder if I'll be able to afford a hotel by October...
The next few weeks will reveal if I make any of the others. Need to do some Beta duplication pronto.
I started with a script yesterday. A really short one for that.
Changed jobs , so havent been able to contribute much on the board.
I am still waiting for my camera. SO havent started shooting anything yet.
